Check the TU 52nd Convocation Program Notice

The TU 52nd Convocation is a critical milestone for Tribhuvan University graduates planning to study abroad for four primary reasons:

  • Official Degree Certificate vs. Temporary Provisional: Most foreign universities and visa departments (such as Australia’s Home Affairs, UKVI, US Embassies, and Canadian IRCC) require the official Original Degree Certificate (दीक्षान्त प्रमाणपत्र) for unconditional admission offers and visa processing. A provisional certificate is only temporary and often triggers document verification holds.
  • Strict 1-Year Wait Penalty: Tribhuvan University conducts its convocation ceremony only once a year. Missing the Kartik 12 (October 29) application deadline means waiting an entire year for the next convocation cycle, which directly delays study abroad intake timelines.
  • WES & Credential Evaluation Requirements: Credential assessment bodies like WES (World Education Services) for the US and Canada, VETASSESS, and Engineers Australia require the final convocation degree certificate alongside transcripts to issue official equivalency reports.
  • MOFA Attestation & Embassy Legalization: Official degree certificates issued through convocation can be legally attested by Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) and foreign embassies in Kathmandu—a mandatory requirement for visa processing in many European and Asian countries (e.g., Germany, Latvia, South Korea).
  • Genuine Student (GS) & Visa Credibility: Submitting a finalized, convocation-issued degree certificate serves as undeniable proof of completed studies, eliminating red flags during visa background checks and financial evaluation.
